Habs anything but settled...

Tonight, the Montreal Canadiens will attempt to do something that has not been done since May 12. That is, to score a goal. Since their 5-2 dismantling of Pittsburgh in the second round of the NHL playoffs, les Habitants must have not gotten the memo that the conference finals are underway.

Let's not take anything away from Leighton, who has been nothing short of exceptional. However, for a team that was able to knock off the Eastern conference's best team, followed by a victory over the defending Stanley Cup champions, Montreal has been outplayed and most importantly, outscored.

It can be assured that the Bell Centre will be electric tonight as Montreal attempts to avoid falling into a seemingly insurmountable hole, a fight that Philadelphia is all too familiar with. Much will rest on the shoulders of Canadiens goalie Jaroslav Halak. Not only has he given up 9 goals in the last 2 games, there was a seemingly underlying tone of defeat evident among the entire Canadien squad.

Just over an hour away from the puck dropping.

Until next post,
